POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inbound Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing inbound freight processes, including domestic and international shipments. This individual will maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), handle freight quoting and claims, and support internal compliance through audits and coordination with carriers and freight forwarders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 2+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Experience with hazardous materials handling and documentation is a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of import/export processes and domestic/international logistics.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Clear and persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, OneNote); experience with AS400 preferred.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical, mathematical, and logistical data.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk using a computer.

• Administer Hazard Materials Training Program and maintain related SOPs and documentation.
• Maintain and update SOPs for domestic and international shipping.
• Compile and organize all freight contracts and documentation.
• Manage list of approved carriers and freight forwarders.
• Quote freight rates with carriers and freight forwarders as needed.
• File claims for lost, damaged, or stolen products.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with logistics procedures.
• Support meetings by documenting key discussion points and follow-up actions.
• Update international vendor details with freight partners.
