QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in public health, public or business administration, or other related field preferred
  • Proven track record and demonstrated experience in analyzing complex problems and systems in human services, behavioral health or related fields
  • Superior computer literacy skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Power Point) and the ability to learn new computer applications with ease; knowledge of AWARDS database is a plus
  • Strong written and visual communication skills
  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion with regard to confidential information
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, accuracy and pacing
  • Interest in issues relating to homelessness, mental health and/or substance abuse

Responsibilities

The Incident Data Coordinator is responsible for managing critical incident reporting across the agency with a focus on ensuring high quality reporting and conducting quantitative analysis to support data-driven decision making. Working closely with BRC’s compliance team and program leadership, the Incident Data Coordinator will play an integral role in helping BRC ensure the safety and security of its staff and clients while also meeting funder regulations. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing incident reporting in BRC’s case management database, including conducting real-time, ongoing quality assurance efforts examining the content and categorization of reported incidents
  • Conducting daily review of incidents with synopsis for senior management
  • Managing incident reporting in the CARES client database used by programs funded by NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS)
  • Coordinating and providing support for monthly incident review meetings for safe haven, stabilization bed and shelter programs funded by NYC DHS, including support with agenda setting, meeting logistics and material preparation
  • Preparing agency-wide incident data summaries and conducting trend analyses on a quarterly basis to identify trends and potential areas for further action
  • Conducting follow-up analysis projects arising from incident analysis or emerging trends
  • Providing training and technical assistance to staff around best practices for writing incidents and procedures for categorizing incidents
  • Other related duties as assigned
