The selected applicant must hold a current Working with Children Clearance Notice (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain. Corporate-based
conditions apply to this position. Visits to remote schools may necessitate travel by 4x4 vehicle on unsealed roads or light aircraft and
include overnight stays in remote communities of up to four days. Four-wheel drive training will be provided by the NT Department of
Education.

Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Deliver speech pathology services within and across regional teams under the supervision of more experienced or senior speech
    pathologists.
  2. Work with schools to support student, student groups, whole class and whole school approaches through environmental speech
    pathology assessment and staff capacity building, under the supervision of a more experienced or senior speech pathologist.
  3. Participate in the delivery of evidence based Professional Learning sessions provided by SWIPS multidisciplinary teams and in
    response to Requests for Service.
  4. Ensure adherence to the legislations, policy frameworks, guidelines and practice standards and maintain accurate record utilising the
    department databases.
  5. Participate in continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local level to ensure delivery of contemporary
    speech pathology services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Deliver speech pathology services within and across regional teams and supporting the coordination of allocation of speech pathology
    services.
  2. Collaborate with Professional Practice Leaders and work across multidisciplinary teams to inform practice standards, facilitate place-
    based decision making and ensure cohesive and place-based service delivery. This includes participating in the assessment of service
    requests from intake through to allocation and service delivery planning for schools.
  3. Support student, student groups, whole class and whole school approaches through environmental speech pathology assessments
    and staff capacity building to develop speech, language and communication competencies.
  4. Support the delivery of evidence based Professional Learning sessions provided by SWIPS multidisciplinary teams and in response to
    Requests for Service.
  5. Ensure adherence to the legislations, policy frameworks, guidelines and practice standards and maintain accurate record utilising the
    department databases.
  6. Consult with schools and families to evaluate student functioning and impacting issues to facilitate access and participation in order
    to maximise educational outcomes for students.
