WHAT YOU’LL BRING - SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES:

You’ll be a great communicator, effectively assisting families about their child’s development and well-being and collaborating with other educators to create an environment that promotes learning and development, ensuring that all children, regardless of background, culture, or ability, have equal opportunities to participate in activities and learning experiences. You’ll ensure a child-safe environment and contribute to a culture of child safety by fulfilling the responsibilities and requirements of Council’s Child Safe Policy and procedures.

  • Early Childhood Qualification as recognised under Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 – Certificate III or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
  • Current recognised Level 2 First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate, with CPR updates completed within the last 12 months.
  • Awareness of the cultural needs of families.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to maintain written records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10:30am to 4:30pm including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Responsibilities

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE AND WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In this role you will provide support to a child with additional care needs to assist their participation within the program, engaging and extending on children’s learning and development in the Nursery room. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will provide a high-quality, innovative educational program that meets the individual needs of children aged from birth to six years at the Morobe Street Children’s Centre. This role will ensure that care and education programs align with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy.
