The Inclusionaries Lab (www.inclusionaries.com), based within the Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing Engineering in the School of Engineering are looking to recruit an Inclusive Design Researcher to work on innovative R&D projects in the MedTech and Assistive Technology sector.
In this role, you will be working closely with people with disabilities, clinicians, various industrial partners and engineers to develop cutting-edge, inclusive hardware and physical products that make a life-changing impact.
You will be required to design, plan, undertake, analyse and report back on a wide range of design research activities aimed at: capturing URS and developing PDS; conducting Design Reviews throughout prototype development; assess and evaluate designs according to end-user and stakeholder needs and requirements; and document, write and publish high quality reports, and academic papers on the inclusive and user-centred aspects of the project. You will be required to work closely with Duchenne UK and other project partners to advise on user-facing activities and plan, design and deliver public engagement initiatives such as a pop-up exhibition.
You should have a UG and/or PGT Design quantification (or highly relevant area).
You will be required to work full-time for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extending your contract until the end of July 2026. You should be available to start this role between March - May 2025.
