Job Description
JOB TITLE: Inclusive Design Specialist (6-Month FTC)
LOCATION: Leeds / Bristol / Edinburgh / Manchester / Chester

SALARY: £59,850 - £66,500

HOURS: Full Time
DURATION: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.
About this opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Inclusive Designer to embed inclusive design best practices, ensuring compliance with regulations, and ensuring inclusive design practice is embedded in the design method.
This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of accessibility and equity in design, ensuring that our products and service offerings are usable and enjoyable for people of all abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
This role would suit someone with a strong knowledge of Design and Engineering process, a collaborative working style, and deep understanding of inclusive and accessible best practice.
About the Role
The purpose of the team is to ensure inclusive experience quality for our customers and colleagues.
This role will work closely with Designers, XD Communities of Practices, engineers and CJMs as well as change management and other Group functions.

It will be your role to:

  • Review and update the Group’s process for managing Digital Accessibility
  • Champion inclusive design, helping to embed best practice in design, engineering, and product development processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on inclusive design best practices, user needs, and accessibility standards
  • Stay up to date with evolving accessibility laws and regulations (e.g. EAA), influencing the Group’s approach to compliance

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in inclusive design, accessibility or UX/UI design
  • Strong understanding of accessibility guidelines, usability principles, and assistive technologies
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive inclusive design strategy and execution
  • Experience in design thinking, co-creation, and design methodologies.
  • Knowledge of digital and physical accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, BS 8878, ISO 30071-1)
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

We’re looking for someone who may also have (preferred):

  • Experience working in tech, product development, or built environment industries
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, and emerging technologies in inclusive design
  • Hands-on experience with assistive technologies and adaptive interfaces
