Job Title: Income Assistant
Salary: £28,901.61 per annum
Location: Brassey Road, Shrewsbury with hybrid working
Hours: 37 hours per week, 12 month fixed term contract
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Income Assistant to join our successful Income Team on a full time, fixed-term basis. This position will also be considered as a secondment opportunity for internal applicants.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience and knowledge of housing legislation and best practice regarding Income and court process
  • Experience of working with internal and external partners to resolve complex issues
  • An ability to be pro-active, use own initiative and be self-driven to achieve agreed individual targets
  • Experience of working with vulnerable customers.
  • Ability to tackle difficult situations with confidence and negotiate to reach a good solution
  • Pro-active communicator to ensure customers are at the heart of the case management

Responsibilities

As an Income Assistant, you will be required to have knowledge of welfare benefits, housing legislation and be able to demonstrate best practice regarding income collection and court processes. This is a customer focused role requiring a holistic approach to problem solving and you will be required to think strategically to achieve positive results for both the customer and the business. The successful candidate will be supporting our customers to navigate the intricacies of welfare benefits and sustaining their tenancies. Therefore, if you have an ability to be pro-active, use a wide range of software packages, can demonstrate good communication skills and have a positive approach to tackling problems whilst also working to tight deadlines and targets we would love to hear from you.
