This position will be based out of Oak Brook Terrace, IL facility (a Western suburb of Chicago), or Farmington Hills, MI. Job Description As the Income Tax Accountant, you will serve as a key contributor to our North American tax operations. This role is designed for a professional who has mastered the fundamentals of corporate tax compliance and is ready to take ownership of complex projects, including tax technology initiatives and multi-state consolidated filings. You will act as a bridge between tax compliance and broader financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced corporate environment. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the preparation of Federal/State consolidated and separate tax returns. Responsible for estimated Federal/State tax payments Income tax accounting: assist with annual Federal/State tax provision, maintenance of deferred tax accounts, and related financial statement disclosures Assist with special M-1 adjustments including: UNICAP, LIFO and Fixed Assets. Tax forecasting Assist with tax technology implementations Assist with IRS audits Provide support and assistance to the tax managers in all aspects of the compliance function to include technical research and analysis Ability to interact professionally with business units and other staff members. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in corporate income tax compliance or public accounting. Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and IFRS accounting principles. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling) and experience with corporate tax software (e.g., Corptax, OneSource). Demonstrated experience with Federal and Multi-state tax filings for large, complex legal entities. Preferred Qualifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or active candidacy. Master’s Degree in Taxation (MST). Prior experience working within a large, multinational manufacturing or technology organization. Advanced proficiency in SAP or similar large-scale ERP systems. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate findings to non-tax stakeholders.
