Responsibilities Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing In this role, the Income Tax Manager will oversee global tax compliance, reporting, and provisions. Assist with tax initiatives, tax planning strategies and work closely with accounting, finance, treasury, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting and effective management of tax risk. Job Location: New York, NY or Chamblee, GA Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Oversee preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740 Manage deferred tax calculations, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions Coordinate preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and extensions Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws and assess impacts to the company’s tax position and reporting Support tax forecasting, effective tax rate analysis, and cash tax planning Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisor Ensure timely and accurate responses to tax authority notices and inquiries Maintain and enhance internal controls over tax reporting and compliance Drive automation and technology improvements in tax provision and compliance processes Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting tax positions and conclusions Qualifications What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do: 4-year College Degree in Accounting or equivalent, CPA Strongly Preferred. 7 plus years’ experience in public company corporate taxes Experience with ASC 740 in a publicly traded company Exposure to international tax and cross-border structuring concepts Experience implementing or improving tax provision and compliance software Familiarity with ERP systems and tax data automation tools The Extras We Value (Preferred Requirements) While not mandatory, here are some additional things that would make you stand out: Big 4 experience Physical Requirements We want to make sure you’re fully equipped for success. Here’s a look at any physical requirements needed for this role: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and mouse for prolonged periods of detailed work Sufficient visual acuity to review complex financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation Ability to speak and hear clearly for frequent meetings and calls with internal teams and external advisors Ability to occasionally stand, walk, and move between office work area Ability to lift and carry light office materials (up to approximately 15 pounds) such as files or a laptop Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during long periods of analytical, detail-oriented tasks What We Offer Salary Range & Benefits At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The compensation for this role ranges from $104,000/Yr. - $124,000/Yr., depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table.
