Job Description The Independent Certifier Representative (ICR) acts as the authorised representative of the Independent Certifier on major infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for independently verifying and certifying that project works comply with contractual, statutory, and technical requirements across design, construction, and completion phases. The ICR owns the design certification and construction certification processes and is accountable for the performance, outputs, and professional conduct of the Independent Certifier team. The ICR has authority to bind the Independent Certifier (IC) and is the primary interface with the Principal and the Contractor. Key Responsibilities Act as the Independent Certifier’s contractual representative Own and lead the design certification and construction certification processes Implement, maintain, and enforce the Verification & Monitoring Plan Direct, manage, and be accountable for the performance of the IC team Oversee surveillance, audits, and inspections across all project phases Maintain independence, probity, and professional judgement Qualifications Minimum 20 years’ experience in major civil infrastructure projects Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation (desirable) Strong background in civil design and construction delivery Demonstrated experience in independent certification, verification, or assurance roles Experience operating under government or principal-led contract models Proven capability leading and being accountable for multi-disciplinary technical teams Additional Information AECOM acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we, our clients and our communities live and work around Australia.
