EVENT MARKETING SERVICES - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR OPPORTUNITY Tourism Whistler is seeking an independent contractor to provide Event Marketing Services in support of Whistler Pride Festival, Nourish Whistler Wellness series, and Cornucopia. This engagement is a contract for services and not an employment relationship. The contractor will operate their own business, determine their own working methods, and provide their own tools and equipment required to deliver the agreed-upon services. The contractor may provide services to other clients and will not be integrated into Tourism Whistler's employee structure or programs. CONTRACT DETAILS Contract Term: December 15, 2025 - November 30, 2026 Estimated workload: Approximately 20 hours per week, varying by project (hours are not guaranteed) Rate: Up to $40 per hour Business Relationship: Independent Contractor providing services to Tourism Whistler Primary Contact: Manager, Marketing & Creative Services SCOPE OF SERVICES The contractor will provide the following event marketing services and deliverables: SOCIAL MEDIA SERVICES Manage event social media channels, including content planning, content creation, scheduling, and analytics reporting. Provide on-site coverage in Whistler during event dates to capture and post real-time content. Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and content creators to support asset collection. DIGITAL & EMAIL MARKETING SUPPORT Provide website updates related to event programming and information. Develop CASL-compliant data capture strategies to support event newsletter growth. Plan, prepare, and execute email marketing campaigns. ADVERTISING & MEDIA SUPPORT Assist with paid media deliverables, including creative submission, proofing, and performance reporting. Coordinate with designated Tourism Whistler contacts regarding promotional assets or timelines. General Coordination Consult with Tourism Whistler employees and other designated contacts, external partners, and content providers as needed to deliver assigned service. Provide additional event marketing deliverables as mutually agreed upon. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES The ideal contractor will bring the following qualifications and capabilities: Demonstrated experience managing social media channels for events, brands, or organizations. Experience with email marketing tools and CRM systems (e.g., Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp). Working knowledge of digital marketing and advertising principles. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail and brand consistency. Skilled at coordinating multiple stakeholders and delivering services within agreed timelines. Familiarity with Whistler, its events, culture, and tourism industry. Works independently and managers deliverables with minimal oversight.
