An Independent Contractor on our Preparedness Cadre will be responsible for providing support to state and local government agencies Emergency Preparedness missions. This team of on-call professionals will lead, coordinate, or provide subject matter expertise to complex projects for federal, state, local, tribal, and or private sector clients related to emergency management and homeland security, including assessments, plans, training, exercises, and evaluations.
Candidates who apply for this position will be considered for membership on a roster of professionals available for independent contracting positions. To qualify as an independent contractor, candidates will need an active EIN, registered business name, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR – PREPAREDNESS CADRE INCLUDE:

  • Seven or more years of experience in emergency management, economic development, resilience, public health, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • A strong understanding of emergency management processes at the local, state, and federal levels, including knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), the National Response Framework (NRF), National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), and other federal preparedness guidance documents and policies.
  • Experience implementing incident objectives with a diverse set of agencies and stakeholders.
  • An active EIN, registered business name, etc. to be considered an independent contractor.
