Description Catholic Charities of Central Colorado is seeking a fully bilingual Spanish-English Interpreter and Translator to provide professional legal and immigration interpretation and translation services for its Family Immigration Services (FIS) program. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for an experienced freelance Spanish interpreter/translator located in Colorado. Work is project-based and scheduled upon request, typically 2–6 hours per week, with fluctuations between 0–20 hours depending on case needs and contractor availability. Experience providing interpretation and translation Knowledge of legal and immigration terminology in both languages or demonstrated willingness and ability to learn the terminology Professional certification preferred but not required Independent contractor must be located in the state of Colorado Confidential computer set-up and ability to print, scan, and mail or deliver documents required for remote work Opportunity for remote or on-site work, with a preference for on-site spoken language interpretation. Essential Duties Provide accurate and faithful spoken language interpretation between Spanish and English. The interpretation should be complete and avoid additions or omissions. Convert written text from one language into another while preserving meaning, tone, style, and intent. Deliver completed translations within agreed deadlines, to include signed certification form attesting to the accuracy of the translation. Facilitate clear communication without adding, omitting, or altering meaning. Request clarification when necessary to ensure accuracy Maintain strict confidentiality of all communications and documents. Strictly maintain the attorney-client privilege. Compensation Pay rate: $41/hour As-needed hours (0-20 weekly) No benefits provided Independent Contractor Role This position is an independent contractor role.
