JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking experienced and motivated Independent Social Workers to undertake freelance work. This role involves completing Form F Assessments and Initial Visits for prospective foster carers, providing professional, high-quality assessments in accordance with regulatory standards.
Please note this is a freelance position, with payment being made per assessment completed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Social Worker (BA, MA or equivalent) and Social Work England registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience, preferably in fostering or children’s services.
  • Proven experience in completing Form F Assessments.
  • Strong report writing and assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload and schedule.
  • Enhanced DBS check (dated within the last 12 months or on the update service).
  • Access to own transport and willingness to travel, if required.

PAYMENT:

  • Payment is made per assessment, with rates agreed in advance depending on the nature and complexity of the task.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake Initial Visits to prospective foster carers to assess suitability and provide information about the fostering process.
  • Complete Form F Assessments within agreed timescales, ensuring they are comprehensive, analytical, and comply with all relevant fostering regulations and guidance.
  • Attend panel meetings (in person or virtually) to present assessments and respond to any queries.
  • Liaise with the agency’s fostering team, providing regular updates on the progress of assessments.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, confidentially, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fostering legislation, policies, and best practice.
