As a Direct Custody and Clearing Associate, you will manage the India market entry and onboarding process for foreign portfolio investors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, drive process efficiencies, and manage risk and control assessments. This role offers you the chance to build strong relationships, stay current with industry changes, and contribute to the success of our custody operations. Job responsibilities Manage end-to-end client onboarding, including Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) registration Stay current with evolving industry and regulatory changes, client requirements and analyze impact to business, processes, and compliance Drive process efficiencies by innovation and robotics Build and manage effective work relationships with internal stakeholders, like Know Your Customer (KYC) Utility Team, Business, Compliance, Legal teams, and external stakeholders, including but not limited to regulators and auditors Perform detail risk and control assessments and ongoing process reviews to identify patterns/trends with risk and control implications Ensure compliance with Indian capital market and banking regulations Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver best-in-class service Participate in market advocacy to enhance client experience and manage risk Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Bachelor’s Degree At least 5 years of work experience in the financial services industry with at least 5 years of experience in Custody Operations or Designated Depository Participant (DDP) related role Knowledge of Indian capital market and FPI regulations Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure Strong leadership and team management skills Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience in regulatory and corporate compliance activities Knowledge of corporate and investment bank products
