JOB SUMMARY

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and staff supervision.
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with both staff and guests.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and appetizers (e.g., samosas, and pakoras).
  • Master specific techniques like tempering (tadka), slow cooking, and grilling over an open flame (for dishes like kebabs).
  • Ensure proper cooking methods for specific ingredients (e.g., use of spices like garam masala, cumin, turmeric).
  • Chopping, cutting, mixing ingredients, and cooking dishes in various styles, such as curries, tandoori, and biryanis.
  • Handle and maintain a wide variety of Indian spices, herbs, and ingredients, ensuring they are fresh and stored properly.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
  • Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste to optimise food production processes.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor food preparation techniques, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation across all dishes.
