QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS (ABOUT YOU):

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in market-level business development or sales strategy with Indigenous end-market participants.
  • Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience; CPSA designation is preferred.
  • Proven ability to cultivate market-level relationships with Indigenous stakeholders and drive overall sales growth.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to plan and execute market-level business development strategies.
  • Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, networking, and negotiations at the business development and strategy level.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with community leaders, internal/external teams, and market stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required as there may be travel requirements between 25-50%.
  • This position requires air travel and overnight stays in remote communities across northern Canada.

Responsibilities

ROLE:

This position is responsible for advancing and supporting the execution of strategic business development and sales strategies tailored for Indigenous customers and communities. The role involves driving market-level sales and awareness through our team selling organization, ensuring the achievement of specific team and individual sales and profit goals set by the company. The individual will provide exceptional leadership, fostering customer relationships, and implementing innovative solutions that differentiate Sysco in the marketplace.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a Regional Strategic Growth Plan annually for the Indigenous Segment and deliver on annual growth targets.
  • Develop and implement market-level business development and sales strategies specifically tailored for Indigenous communities.
  • Seek out and secure partnership opportunities with community leaders, including Chiefs, Band Councils, and Economic Development Corporations, to identify and capitalize on strategic business-to-business opportunities.
  • Train and educate the sales team on building relationships with Indigenous segment businesses.
  • Deliver and deploy the Indigenous Segment Playbook.
  • Contribute to the strategy for sales colleague and business development resourcing and territory planning in partnership with regional sales leadership.
  • Evaluate market trends and customer needs to develop comprehensive, customer-centric product and service solutions.
  • Leverage sales technology and business resources to provide end-to-end market-level business development and consultative services.
  • Provide oversight to pricing management and strategy for the territory, ensuring alignment with overall market objectives.
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
