Level I BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for developing and expanding relationships with strategic business partners and dealerships to increase loan origination and revenue in the indirect lending space. Travels within the designated region to meet with automobile dealerships and key partners. Presents and implements a comprehensive business plan to automobile dealerships aimed at expanding market penetration. Helps identify member needs, address concerns, and develop tailored solutions. Serves as a representative of the credit union at events and functions, fostering strong industry relationships and enhancing organizational visibility. TYPICAL DUTIES: Develops and implements strategies to increase loan origination with the Credit Union. Identifies new market opportunities and onboards new dealerships and partners to the Indirect Lending Program. Performs regular and ongoing marketing calls to dealerships. Pursues new dealer business, while maintaining existing relationships. Travels to visit with dealerships in the region on a scheduled basis. Travel to the main office as needed. Collects and submits required documentation and information regarding dealer visits and travel. Manages corporate credit card responsibly for approved work-related expenses, maintaining detailed receipts, adhering to assigned spending limits and reconciling statements monthly. Identifies needs and develops a positive working relationship with dealership partners. Explains the philosophy, products and services of the credit union and provides continual training. Creates and updates dealership training material as needed, depending on market needs. Assists with the coordination of special promotions and business-building strategies with dealership and retail market accounts. Works closely with the Communications Department to design promotional campaigns and materials that support business development efforts. Assists with creating necessary reports to measure account performances. Prepares statistical reports as required for management review. Reviews dealership portfolios ensuring the integrity of the program, sharing trends with management and meeting with dealership management to address concerns. Collaborates with the Collections Department and Titling area. Attends functions as necessary to promote goodwill and positive relationships. Stays current with market trends, economic conditions, and interest rates to maintain adequate knowledge keeping an edge on the competition. Serves in an auxiliary capacity to review difficult and exception loan requests involving the dealer and retail market. Introduces plans to improve the efficiency of the indirect and retail program. Works along-side the Communication Department in coordinating dealer events. Cooperate with other departmental personnel to ensure a “team effort” and prompt member service. Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Performs other duties assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union. This position requires evening, weekends and holiday availability to meet department needs. Experience working with automobile dealerships or lenders in a partnership capacity. Extensive knowledge of the credit union’s products, services and loan operations. Ability to interact with dealership employees, members and co-workers professionally and with integrity. Ability to perform all duties with a minimum amount of direct supervision. Maintains an accurate calendar and reports visit activity and outcomes in accordance with departmental requirements. Excellent judgment skills to make quick decisions within or outside written policy and procedures. Knowledge of consumer credit laws and regulations. A thorough understanding of the credit union’s loan policies and procedures. Good knowledge of the market value and methods of appraising all types of collateral and analyzing income and financial statements. Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and oral. Excellent listening skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to make presentations to dealers and retail market businesses. Ability to make effective cold calls with a positive, enthusiastic attitude. Ability to function effectively under pressure. Ability to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for business expansion. Ability to manage time and prioritize work assignments. Maintains a suitable telecommuting workspace at the employee's residence that provides privacy, a designated work area, minimal noise, and freedom from interruptions.
