To support this mission, Syngenta is seeking a Hybrid Indirect Procurement Specialist – Legal (1 year fixed-term contract) in Budapest. Accountabilities The role that plays a key part in supporting and enabling effective procurement activities across Syngenta’s Legal category, which sits within the wider Professional Services scope. It offers a unique opportunity to help shape the role from the ground up while working on high-impact sourcing initiatives within an international, innovative, and highly collaborative environment. The role will lead and support sourcing initiatives across panel and matter-level engagements, encompassing preferred firm programmes and project-based RFPs. In addition, it will collaborate closely with the billing team to analyse legal spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements across Legal suppliers. As part of a small, globally distributed team, the role builds deep market insight and strong, trusted stakeholder relationships across regions and functions, delivering measurable impact and supporting the ongoing evolution of Legal procurement at scale. Collaborate closely with the Indirect Procurement team to prioritize and execute high-impact initiatives, ensuring effective allocation of procurement resources. Lead end-to-end new supplier tenders for the Legal category. Provide accurate and actionable spend, supplier, and performance analytics for the Legal category to support strategic sourcing and decision-making. Ensure sourcing activities align with internal policies, stakeholder requirements, and broader procurement strategies. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 2 years of experience working in Indirect Procurement. Fluent English language knowledge. Knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing methodologies, and related processes. Knowledge of tendering processes and contract negotiations, including experience supporting or managing competitive sourcing events. Negotiation knowledge and skills: Understanding of negotiation strategies and commercial levers (e.g., pricing models, total cost of ownership) and the ability to apply these in supplier discussions to achieve value-for-money outcomes. Contract management knowledge: Working knowledge of contract lifecycle management, including understanding core contractual terms (scope, pricing, deliverables, SLAs, termination provisions) and the ability to support contract drafting/review. Desired Qualifications Demonstrated willingness and ability to quickly learn, adapt, and apply new skills, tools, and processes. Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset, with resilience when working under pressure or managing competing priorities. Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse stakeholders.
