Job Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in indirect tax compliance and accounting who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and process-driven environment. As an Indirect Tax GL Accountant, you will support the preparation, filing, reconciliation, and reporting of indirect tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions, while contributing to process improvements and tax technology initiatives. Responsibilities & Duties Prepare, file, and support payment of indirect tax returns in line with compliance calendars and tax authority regulations, including: Value Added Tax (VAT) Sales & Use Tax Gross Receipts Tax Business & Occupation Tax Business Licenses Support monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliations. Maintain accurate tax calendars, ensuring all filing and payment deadlines are met. Use tax compliance software to perform adjustments, reconciliations, and data exports. Support regional tax teams with tax research, issue resolution, and implementation of consistent global tax practices. Assist with tax audits by providing accurate and timely documentation and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on tax technology and automation initiatives. Identify and escalate tax risks or compliance issues proactively. Maintain accurate tax records, audit trails, and process documentation. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, standardisation, and operational efficiency. Support data analytics and reporting projects to enhance tax compliance accuracy and insight. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and service level agreements. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Tax, or related field. 2-3 years of professional experience in Tax or Accounting, ideally with exposure to indirect tax compliance. Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues accurately. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle. Experience with tax compliance software and tax reporting tools. Data analytics experience is advantageous. Professional tax or accounting certification such as CPA, CTA, CMI, or equivalent is beneficial but not mandatory.
