Description
Oversee all aspects of indirect taxation within the company and its subsidiaries, including planning, reporting and compliance. Develop effective legal tax strategies to minimize overall tax burden of the consolidated group of companies and minimize overall costs associated with the tax function. Ensure records, returns and related reports comply with all federal, state and local regulations. Manage outside tax consultants and advisors. Assist with internal audits relating to tax matters, external tax audits, and preparing guidelines and/or policies related to tax compliance. Reconciliations of tax-related general ledger accounts. Develop and implement process and/or technology improvements across Indirect Tax compliance. Conduct sales and use tax research -tax rates, taxability, tax exemptions, etc. Drive various special projects as assigned. 6+ years of progressive work experience in a similar industry's corporate tax department and/or a public accounting firm. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (CPA, MBA or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred). Experience in all aspects of indirect tax (e.g., compliance, controversy, tax accounting, process improvement, tax technology). Strong knowledge of taxation relating to U.S. based multinational companies with focuses on manufacturing operations and research and development. Advanced Excel knowledge. Experience with Oracle, Vertex, Avalara, Alteryx, and/or Power BI is preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills. Deadline-driven and self-motivated with an ability to work independently and as part of a fast paced, de-centralized global team. Experience working with large data and championing and implementing process improvements. Skilled in developing and analyzing tax planning and tax minimization strategies.
