What You'll Do We are building cloud-based tax compliance solutions to handle every transaction in the world. Imagine every transaction you make - every tank of gas, cup of coffee, or pair of sneakers, every movie ticket, or streamed song, every sensor-to-sensor ping. Nearly every time you make a purchase, physical or digital, there is an accompanying unique and nuanced tax compliance calculation. You will report to Manager, Indirect Tax. What Your Responsibilities Will Be You will research, monitor, translate & interpret the customs duty laws and tariff changes, evaluate the content accuracy, and conclude on landed cost content calculation decisions and actions. Maintain existing customs tariff and landed cost content for assigned countries by monitoring customs law changes. Maintained accurate, complete, and timely updated customs tariff content. Contact customs department to source the customs duty, taxes, and compliance requirements. Document landed cost duty and compliance research findings in required format and tools. Conduct web and subscription service research and be active with all the global trade news. Meet monthly deadlines to incorporate research findings (HS, HS Description, Import Duty, and Compliance rules) into Avalara tools. Effectively work and communicate with team members to accomplish specific tasks under multiple duty calculation or import/compliance project on a timely, efficient, and productive manner. Open to accepting additional responsibilities when required under any additional import duty calculations project. What You'll Need to be Successful Education and Experience: MBA in International Business or Finance and minimum 3 years of professional experience in the trade compliance domain Or Bachelor's and minimum 5 years of experience in the trade compliance domain Skills: A background in supply chain management is a plus.We have a preference for licensed custom broker. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of AI tools and their applications in cross-border content coverage. Analytical Skills: Excellent logical reasoning and analytical ability to interpret complex customs regulations (anti-dumping duty, countervailing duty, ECCN and HS rulings).
