Position Summary  This position is based in Denali National Park near Healy, AK. The incoming intern will assist in the care of 30 Alaskan Husky sled dogs alongside National Park Service staff. Location Denali National Park, AK Schedule  April 19, 2026 - September 19, 2026 Key Duties and Responsibilities  Tasks include feeding, cleaning, grooming, and training canine adults and puppies, and monitoring their general health (20%), you will also maintain equipment and grounds (20%), assist with ensuring safe and smooth sled dog demonstrations for the public, may drive the dog team or deliver 40 minute interpretive talks (30%), interact with visitors and answer questions (20%).   Marginal Duties  Collect National Weather Service weather data (5%), training and office work including social media outreach to the public(5%).   Required Qualifications  Experience working with animals.   Preferred Qualifications  Experience working with sled dogs or at a dog kennel.   Hours  40 per week   Living Accommodations  Housing in the Park is provided. Living area may be shared with another roommate. Common living areas may be shared.
