Job Purpose: Weatherford have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer specializing in the development of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) stacks and edge computing solutions on AWS and Azure (Optional) to join the team in Mumbai, India.  The Engineer will design, deploy, and optimize systems that bridge operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), driving efficiency and innovation in industrial processes.   Responsibilities: QUALITY * Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System. * Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.  OPERATIONS * Knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation, PLC/RTU, IoT Gateways, AI/ML sensors, SCADA based control systems. * Ability to detail schematics, cable lists and wire lists, label drawings etc. * Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. * Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. COMMUNICATION * Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external. FINANCIAL * All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they oversee a function budget or simply their own expenses. * Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure.   VISION & LEADERSHIP * Demonstrates leadership, ethical behaviour and adherence to Weatherford standards always.   Skills Required:  Design & Development: * Architect IIoT solutions integrating sensors, PLCs, edge devices, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure (Optional)). * Develop edge computing frameworks (e.g AWS Greengrass) for real-time data processing, analytics, and low-latency decision-making. Cloud Integration: * Implement AWS services (IoT Core, Greengrass, Lambda, S3) and Azure (Optional) services (IoT Hub, Functions, Edge) for scalable IIoT deployments. * Optimize data pipelines from edge to cloud, ensuring secure and efficient transmission. Collaboration: * Work with cross-functional teams (software engineers, data scientists, OT/IT teams) to align solutions with business goals. * Partner with stakeholders to translate industrial requirements into technical specifications. Protocols & Security: * Develop communication protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus) and ensure end-to-end security (encryption, access controls, compliance). Troubleshooting & Support: * Diagnose and resolve issues in IIoT/edge systems; provide post-deployment technical support. Documentation & Innovation: * Maintain detailed documentation (designs, APIs, workflows). * Stay updated on emerging trends in IIoT, edge computing, and cloud technologies.   Qualifications Required: * Bachelors in Instrumentation/Electrical/Computer Science or related field. * 3-5 years in industrial automation, with 2+ years focused on IIoT stacks and edge computing. * Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure IoT services and edge devices. * Proficiency in Python. * Knowledge of industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT) and automation systems (PLCs, SCADA). * AWS Certified IoT Specialty, Azure IoT Developer (Optional), or equivalent (preferred). * Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.   About Us: Weatherford is a leading global energy services company.
