We are looking to hire a competent, physically strong and hardworking Construction Supervisor. Experience with equipment on relevant construction projects is essential. The successful candidate must also be able and willing to adapt to seasons’ duties and changing weather conditions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Leadership – Work alongside the crew on-site while leading by example to drive productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Team Supervision & Coordination – Direct and guide construction teams, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
  • Concrete Work Expertise – Oversee and participate in all aspects of concrete work, including formwork, reinforcement, pouring, finishing, and curing, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Bridge Between Field & Management – Act as the key link between construction team and the Construction Manager, ensuring smooth communication of plans, changes, and priorities.
  • Safety Enforcement – Promote and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety checks, and ensure compliance with OHSA and company standards.
  • Quality Assurance – Inspect workmanship, especially in concrete structures, to ensure compliance with industrial construction standards and project specifications.
  • Resource & Equipment Management – Monitor and manage materials, tools, and machinery to prevent downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving On the Ground – Quickly address site challenges, work delays, or technical issues to keep the project moving forward.
  • Scheduling & Progress Tracking – Assist in planning daily work schedules, track progress, and report updates to the Construction Manager.
  • Mentorship & Skill Development – Train and mentor crew members in industrial construction best practices, especially in advanced concrete techniques.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven Experience – Minimum 5–7 years of experience in industrial construction, with at least 3 years in a foreman or supervisory role.
  • Concrete Expertise – In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in concrete formwork, reinforcement, pouring, finishing, and curing.
  • Leadership & Team Management – Strong ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a crew on-site while maintaining high productivity and morale.
  • Hands-On Work Ethic – Willingness to work alongside the crew and actively contribute to completing tasks on the ground.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent verbal communication to effectively liaise between workers and the construction manager, as well as with subcontractors and inspectors.
  • Problem-Solving – Quick decision-making skills to resolve site challenges and minimize delays.
  • Safety Knowledge – Comprehensive understanding of OHSA regulations, workplace safety practices, and risk mitigation.
  • Technical Skills – Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications.
  • Equipment Proficiency – Skilled in the safe operation and basic maintenance of construction tools and heavy machinery including excavator, dozer, skidssteer.
  • Physical Stamina – Capable of performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Organizational Skills – Strong ability to manage schedules, track progress, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Certifications (Preferred) – WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, Working at Heights, and any relevant trade certifications in concrete or construction supervision.
