About the role DroneShield's Design Team is expanding and we are looking for an Industrial Designer with a strong foundation in product development. The position will report to the Design Engineering Lead and represents a unique opportunity to design sophisticated, leading-edge equipment and technology within the defence space. DroneShield has a strong foundation in Industrial Design with various industry-leading products performing with militaries and government agencies around the world. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Conceptualise, develop, and refine new, forward-thinking products, keeping to the company’s established design language Manage products over the entire development cycle Develop and refine concepts for new products with input from various teams Work with manufacturers and suppliers Liaise with stakeholders to manage project outcomes Collaborate with engineering teams to understand complex engineering concepts and integrate into design concepts Development and maintenance of bill of materials, assembly documentation and CAD models Qualifications, Experience and Skills A degree in a relevant product/industrial design discipline or equivalent Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience A portfolio showcasing your design process and presentation skills Diverse experience in design for manufacturing Expertise with product visualisation and rendering (Keyshot preferred) Proficiency in Software tools - Solidworks, and Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) Experience in complex surface modelling Good ideation and sketching skills to clearly communicate your ideas The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver and meet deadlines Previous experience working in Defence, medical, aerospace or consumer electronics is favourable Australian citizenship is preferred for Baseline and potential NV1 clearance Make sure you upload your portfolio in cover letter section when you apply.
