Description

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Preferably licensed with 309A/442A.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience wiring machinery and building control panels in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading & interpreting electrical drawings/schematics in-line with building electrical control panels & machine wirings.
  • Proficient soldering skills.
  • Proficient with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Valid Overhead Crane, Forklift and Skyjack Certification is an asset
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft programs.
  • Working knowledge of ERP software an asset.
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Willing to work overtime/weekends as required.
Responsibilities
  • Build electrical panels and wire machinery according to schematics, drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications.
  • Assemble, wire, mount electrical components on machine/panel back plates, prepare cut-outs, installing junction boxes, etc. (PLC Controllers, Drives, Transformers, Motors, Push Buttons, etc.).
  • Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring components, control devices and equipment.
  • Lay out & wire various electrical components within & between electrical cabinets & machines.
  • Test, troubleshoot & assist in power up.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Operate necessary hand and power tools as required.
