    A fantastic opportunity now exists for an Experienced Industrial Electrician to join Australia’s leading Aluminium Manufacturing and Distribution company. At Capral Aluminium, we are committed to excellence, innovation, and providing our team with the tools and support needed for success.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Install and maintain electrical equipment in accordance with Occupational Health, Safety and Environment regulations and all other appropriate standards
  • Find faults using advanced PLC controlled manufacturing equipment
  • Analyse, develop and implement programs for plant optimisation, including but not limited to, downtime reduction to drive towards new targets, future expansion, new equipment implementation and commissioning, equipment improvements and ongoing continuous improvement programs
  • Maintain and develop computer driven manufacturing equipment and control systems
  • Follow maintenance planning schedules in order to maximise quality production output
  • Provide assistance to relevant Team Leaders to continually progress and develop the Preventative Maintenance System
  • Develop creative solutions, within the bounds of fundamental principles, technical standards, and safety limits, to come up with best practice manufacturing processes
  • Build working relationships with production operators to identify and solve technical problems
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers
  • Provide assistance and training to plant operators for equipment maintenance and use
  • Assist in developing tests / fixtures for components and finished products to ensure the product meets quality standards and operating requirements
  • Take full accountability for personal safety and well-being, develop an understanding of risk minimisation and be committed to achieving the highest possible standards for Safety, Health and the Environment (SH&E)
  • Communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • An “A” Class Electrical Workers Licence
  • Well-developed fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Formal qualifications and extensive PLC experience
  • Significant experience working in a modern manufacturing environment
  • An understanding of computerised maintenance management systems
Responsibilities

This position is responsible for attending plant and equipment breakdowns, completing scheduled routine preventative maintenance and providing technical assistance within a continuous improvement environment to optimise the manufacturing process.
