Description

Generate Upcycle is looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our team!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carries out preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in breakdown situations
  • Carries out equipment installations and modifications as required
  • Recommends any changes and/or improvements to plant equipment/facilities/procedures
  • Upgrades areas with new equipment/technology when required
  • Maintains all records/documentation and ensure completion of paperwork
  • Diagnoses and correct electrical problems with equipment in a fast-paced environment to minimize downtime
  • Sizes and runs conduit and connect wires to various electrical equipment and plant components such as electrical disconnects, transformers, breakers, and a variety of electrical controls.
  • Troubleshoots and adjusts various drives and Instrumentation devices such as encoders, transducers and thermocouples within a PLC control circuit.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Follows company policies and safety standards
  • Keeps workplace clean and organized
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Valid 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician license (Ontario)
  • Proven experience with process equipment in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with large shaft drive pumps, PC pumps, and positive displacement pumps
  • Experience with VFDs & Allen Bradley PLCs
  • PLC training an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to work Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, including on-call weekend shifts
  • Must provide own tools (some provided on site)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be a team-player for overall company success.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • High level of mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, and initiative

Physical Requirements:

  • Reach (including above the head), bend, climb, push, pull twist, squat, and kneel
  • Ability to work in awkward spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
