Description

Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Location: Brampton, ON

As a key member of the maintenance team the Industrial Maintenance Electrician (442A/309) is responsible for the following but not limited to; maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automated production equipment & mechanical components used to manufacture and package dairy products. Additionally, they will warrant safe plant working environments for all employees.

  • Hands on troubleshooting experience and working knowledge of pneumatics, control circuits, PLC controls and mechanical components.
  • Ability to work at various heights.
  • Ability to identify, problem solve and research alternatives within the scope of the job.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
  • Recent experience in the food and beverage industry is considered as an asset
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all production and packaging equipment and auxiliary equipment of the plant.
  • Complete all assigned work orders completely and accurately document and returned to Maintenance Manager all information describing the completion of the work order
  • Provide all information necessary to maintain proper parts inventories
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Environmental Standards, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained
  • Report to management any conditions or practice that adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
  • Utilization of all technical skills required to perform tasks related to dismantling, instillation, repair, testing, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Completing all pertinent documents and reports, as may be required by management or the government, in an accurate and legible format.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner following all company’s safety policies and procedure
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, including conveyors, HMIs and SCADA systems.
  • Use test equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters) to verify or troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving VFDs, motor starters, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, relays, and control circuits.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, ladder logic, and use equipment manuals to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in PLC-controlled systems (Allen Bradley preferred), including I/O modules, sensors, HMI interfaces, and wiring.
  • Experience with servo systems, industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Work safely with and around three-phase Electrical distribution systems up to and including 600V. Switchgear, Transformers, Disconnects, and Industrial Power Distribution.
  • Understand and apply Arc Flash safety procedures and safe work practices, including PPE use, safe work boundaries, and energized/de-energized work protocols.
  • Document all maintenance activities clearly and accurately in using a Maintenance log system, including labor time, parts used, and follow-up required
