Description

Position: Facility Electrician Location: Grand Rapids, MI Job Type: On-site Reports to: Facility Manager Department: North American Operations Position Purpose: Provide industrial electrical maintenance support and analysis to assist Leadec in maintaining & improving the capability of machinery and equipment to achieve customer objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec. * Works safely at all times. * Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings. * Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. * Troubleshoot problems and diagnosed issues with electrical systems and equipment. * Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to install and maintain electrical systems and equipment. * Install and maintain electrical control systems for industrial machinery and equipment. * Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations. * Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as engineers, mechanics, and technicians, to complete projects and repairs. * Provide training and guidance to apprentices and other junior electricians. * Keep accurate records of work performed and maintain inventory of required equipment and supplies. * Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively. * All other duties as assigned by Leadec manager. Competencies: * Managing Tasks * Open Communication * Self-Management Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Communication Skills - Ability to communicate with all levels of Leadec and customer employees. * Language Ability -- Talking to others to convey information effectively. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. * Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and equipment. * Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to industrial electrical work. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Physical ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. * Experience working in industrial settings such as factories, plants, or warehouses. * Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. * Willingness to keep up with industry developments and advancements. * Skilled in Root Cause based maintenance practices. * Exceptional planning, communication, and Leadership skills. Position Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred. * Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience. * Three plus years of experience in Industrial Electrician Maintenance related duties. * Licensing and certification as an electrician a plus. * Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems is a plus. * Experience in Union environment Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job: * Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is moderate). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces from 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; climb or balance; kneel, crawl, stoop, or crouch. * Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment. * Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
