JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (442A);
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial environment ;
  • Consideration may be given to candidates possessing a 309A Construction & Maintenance (must have experience in maintenance and trouble-shooting industrial equipment ).

JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience working with medium voltage power system equipment
  • Knowledge of different voltage levels and limitations (13.8 kV, 2.2 kV, 600 Volt, 250 Vdc)
  • Experience with CO-8 electromechanical relays would be an asset.
  • Previous experience working on electrical distribution systems would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
  • Candidate would be responsible for maintaining M.V switchgear, transformers, relays, metering equipment.
  • Familiar with lockouts/ lockout procedures
  • Industrial troubleshooting experience
  • Working knowledge of SLDs, control circuit prints, alarm circuits, Transformer theory, MV breakers, power factor correction, lighting circuits.
  • Willing to assist with co-op and apprentice training.
  • Temperature Tolerance: The ability to withstand extreme temperatures;
  • Reaction Time: The ability to quickly respond to process upsets;
  • Static Strength: The ability to exert significant muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects;
  • Trunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time, including bending and stooping;
  • Dynamic Strength: The ability to exert muscle force at intervals throughout a work shift. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue;
  • Agility: The ability to negotiate different areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and ladders, and moving around barriers;
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move and react.
