POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Electrician/ Millwright to support our greenhouse operations. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems to ensure the optimal performance of greenhouse infrastructure and production equipment. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on, problem-solving approach and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic agricultural environment.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:

  • Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction & Maintenance Electrician (309A) required.
  • Millwright (433A) certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in an agricultural, greenhouse, or food processing environment.
  • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and automated systems.

SKILLS:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (heat, humidity, etc.).
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems within the greenhouse facility.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain greenhouse automation systems, HVAC units, pumps, fans, conveyors, irrigation systems, and climate control equipment.
  • Install and wire new equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Monitor system performance and respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in scheduled shutdowns, inspections, and overhauls.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, energy efficiency upgrades, and equipment modifications.
  • Collaborate with growers, operations staff, and contractors to support production needs.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
