Description

OVERVIEW

Electricians perform inspection, maintenance and the repair of the electrical assembly on the locomotive, passenger coaches, shop machinery, mobile equipment. You work on electronic components (AC or DC), computer systems, engine ECU, fuel systems and troubleshoot locomotive failures.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate of Qualification as Electrician (309A or 442A)
  • Apprentice 3rd- 4th year
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • required to perform physical work, which is performed in the shop and outdoors
  • Committed to Company Health and Safety
  • Demonstrate abilities to work in a team environment
  • Overtime may be required
  • Ontario driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must be able to pass all required training, background checks, and drug & alcohol testing
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per wee
Responsibilities
  • Repairing, replacing, and monitoring locomotive electrical components
  • Perform preventative maintenance work
  • Troubleshooting electrical problems
  • Work from blueprints, circuit diagrams and schematics
  • Perform modifications and upgrades to locomotive system
  • Maintaining a clean work area in a safety conscious manner
  • Correctly filling out forms for repair and maintenance
