Position: Industrial / Process Engineer
Location: Valley Green, PA
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Systems team located in Etters, PA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering is desirable; 5 to 10 years related experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Related degrees and/or experience will be given consideration.
• Strong interpersonal skills required to interface effectively with persons in a wide range of job functions globally.
• Very strong problem solving and logical reasoning skills. Tenacity and a strong inclination toward order, consistency, and detail are required. Ability to present information in a simplified but logical form to managers and supervisors.
• Technical knowledge of Stamping, Plating, Molding, Assembly and related technologies. Knowledge of quality programs such as FMEA, SPC, Fishbone Analysis, and Pareto Charts used to drive quality and cost improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to accept accountability and drive business directed activities with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Project, and PowerPoint are required. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred. Skills with ERP Systems and 2D / 3D CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Creo, or SolidWorks are a plus.

• Operations Plans, Assembly Line Rationalization, Floor Planning, Capital Expenditure and Manpower Projections. Aid in the development of strategic plans for new product introductions and existing product modifications. Work closely with marketing to determine project forecasts and process scope. Understand relative financial formulations.
• Analysis of What-If Scenarios and Alternative Design implications. Vendor vs In-House manufacturing costs. Reverse engineer competitor’s product to produce a probable process and cost. Gap analysis: predicted vs actual cost and process parameters. Utility, AFOQ implications, capital payback and business case evaluation. Cost Reduction: managing current vs entitlement cost.
• Second sourcing and Supply chain geo-diversity. May include sourcing of Advanced Manufacturing: Laser Welding, Additive Manufacturing, Adhesives, Multi-Shot Injection Molding, Robotic Assy for “manual” processes as well as custom designed automated assembly systems.
• Troubleshoot Design for Manufacturability issues including manufacturing hand-off issues, capacity bottlenecks, geometric tolerancing and print issues, staffing issues, line balancing and equipment requirements.
• Strategic Development Protocols and Maintenance: Folders, CBS Common SharePoint, E-Forms, Procedures, the training of Project Teams on proper protocols
• Communication and Coordination of Process Implications with the broader design and Marketing Members of the team as well as management.
• Position will include occasional travel to foreign manufacturing sites.
