JOB SUMMARY The Industrial Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations at the Salcomp USA facility. This role focuses on improving factory layout, production efficiency, material flow, and operational productivity through data analysis and Lean manufacturing methodologies. The Industrial Engineer works cross-functionally with operations, engineering, safety, and quality teams to drive sustainable improvements across production lines. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Design and optimize factory layouts, production lines, and workstations to improve material flow, space utilization, and operational efficiency. * Conduct time studies, process studies, and line balancing to improve productivity and labor efficiency. * Support capacity planning activities and resource optimization based on production requirements. * Assist with the implementation of new production lines, equipment, and manufacturing processes. * Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and operational performance. * Apply Lean Manufacturing tools such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kanban, and 5S. * Analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. * Standardize work methods and support documentation of best practices across production areas. * Work closely with production, engineering, safety, and quality teams to improve processes and workstation design. * Support ergonomic improvements and workplace safety initiatives. * Provide data analysis and reporting to leadership on operational performance and improvement opportunities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, process engineering, or manufacturing operations. * Experience conducting time studies, line balancing, and capacity planning. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field. * Experience in electronics manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing environments. * Experience using CAD tools, factory layout software, or manufacturing simulation tools. * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is performed in an electronics manufacturing environment. The role may require standing, walking through production areas, and interacting with machinery and assembly lines. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when entering designated production areas.
