Role Description We're seeking an Industrial Engineer who will design and operate efficient systems that integrate workers, information, machines, energy, and materials to make products or provide services. They will find ways to prevent waste and inefficiency in production processes, and design equipment to coordinate production planning to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. They will also make sure the company complies with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods will be a key skill for this role. What You'll Do: Work with the Design Engineering Team on new product development projects to determine the best method for assembly and manufacturing. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers. Establish process flow, manufacturing layout, PFMEA and assembly concept in cooperation with the manufacturing plant. Support choosing of suppliers regarding tool technology. Investigate feasibility of transfer for carry over parts/tools and/or make/buy decisions. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Team to resolve any quality issues in manufacturing processes or documentation. Conduct detailed analysis of current processes to identify areas for improvement. Lead the production process improvement initiatives within the manufacturing plant. Develop, revise, and optimize the latest layout drawings to enhance production efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of optimization projects. Prepares equipment specification for lists of required materials, tools, and equipment. Development of equipment suppliers. Create drawings, standard forms and procedures for equipment. Budget and timing responsible for planned assembly equipment. Qualifications What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in production planning within manufacturing industry and mass production with emphasis on assembly, quality and logistics. Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing and scaling to high volume as part of a cross-functional team Knowledge of automation and advanced manufacturing technologies (PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, manufacturing processes, OSHA requirements). Practical experience in CAD (AutoCAD and SolidWorks), time studies, process control plans and PFMEA. Proven experience with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve desired results. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and recommend solutions. Excellent problem-solving abilities and project management skills. Education, Experience & Additional Skills Experience in the automotive, electronics, consumer goods, or other specialized manufacturing industries. Automation systems expertise.
