Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented and dedicated Industrial Laboratory Technician to join our client’s team in Nanticoke, ON. In this role, you will perform a variety of technical and analytical tasks to support our laboratory operations. You will ensure high-quality standards, maintain a safe working environment, and contribute to the success of our projects.

PAY RATE: UP TO $35.00/HOUR (BASED ON EXPERIENCE)

  • Location: Nanticoke, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday
  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 1-year contract with possibility of extension

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology; a B.Sc. in Engineering or Analytical Sciences is preferred.
  • Must pass a pre-placement medical assessment by the Health Centre to meet the physical requirements of the role.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant laboratory experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in production testing, and in safety and quality management systems such as OIMS, QP&G, GPQMS, ISO 9001 registration, CIMS, DIAF, engine operation, environmental testing, and gas chromatography.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with analytical laboratory instruments, including routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment such as gas chromatographs, distillation units, vapor pressure apparatus, extraction systems, and titration equipment.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting non-routine lab tests and addressing equipment reliability issues, including coordinating with vendors or technical support.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistical quality control, including knowledge of run rule violations, standard deviations, control limits, moving ranges, and bias correction.
  • Proven ability to use statistical tools such as TPI, CpK, and Site Precision.
  • Ability to apply procedures based on industry standards, including ASTM, EI, CGSB, AQUA, and MISA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as Genie and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the LPS program and all safety initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with OIMS requirements.
  • Perform all testing safely and in alignment with DIAF standards.
  • Carry out all laboratory tests, procedures, instrument troubleshooting, calibrations, quality control, and routine maintenance in strict adherence to data integrity (DIAF) guidelines.
  • Complete the annual Data Integrity Assurance Framework review and submit the signed acknowledgment.
  • Manage completion of WebCat training modules independently.
  • Review laboratory notifications promptly.
  • Complete assigned Test Method Assessments.
  • Fulfill all mandatory progression and training requirements for the Laboratory role.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Management team.
