Description

Industrial Maintenance Mechanics Needed (M-F), or Night Shift or (12 hour shift)
As an Industrial Mechanic in a geotextile manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment used in the production of geotextile fabrics. Your role ensures minimal downtime, optimal machine performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Maintenance & Repair
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment such as extruders, looms, needle punch machines, crosslappers, winders , accumulators, and heat bonding units.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
  • Replace defective parts and recalibrate systems as needed.
  • Installation & Setup
  • Assist in the installation and alignment of new machinery.
  • Collaborate with engineers to optimize equipment layout for efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Resolve problems related to hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all machinery complies with OSHA and industry safety standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to reduce downtime.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred. Engineer is also accepted
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in textile or geotextile manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to work in demanding environments.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with automated production lines and PLC systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to learn and positive attitude are required.
