Description

Direct Coil Inc., a rapidly growing manufacturer in the HVAC industry and is currently looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of Maintenance Mechanical/Journeyman. This position involves a thorough knowledge of the electrical and mechanical trade and an understanding of the plant operating principles to ensure that equipment functions properly and safely.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, dismantle, maintain machinery to company’s plans, blueprints, and other diagrams
  • Install, repair, maintain and replace a wide variety of electrical equipment, circuitry, mechanical components, mount fixtures, run conduit, pull wire, and connect wiring as required
  • Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment as well as electrical breakdowns
  • Repair malfunctioning equipment such as but not limited to, motors, pumps, valves, controls, building maintenance, and other machines
  • Instrumentation repairs and calibrations as well as electrical repairs and installations
  • Suggest and participate in area of production to improve the safety, quality, and productivity of the plant
  • Ensure that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
  • Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes to facilitate production as well as maintaining or repairing company buildings
  • Checking and maintain fluid level on machinery, including lubricating and greasing
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The qualified candidate should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the mechanical and electrical field; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Able to fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance, or overhaul
  • Aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, electrical schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Experience running tests on equipment, as well as Pneumatic and Hydraulic System Troubleshooting
  • Must have Controls and PLC experience, knowledge of CSA/UL Standards and Compliance, and Ontario Electrical Safety Code requirements
  • Previous experience in preventative maintenance is mandatory
  • Self-disciplined and be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs and meet physical demands and skills analysis of the job
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime on short notice (in case of breakdowns)
  • Must have valid driver’s license
