POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuous operation of our manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment and systems involving PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gears, electrical systems, and robotics. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance as well as build, fabricate and enhance equipment, guarding, and processes.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified in one of the following:
  • 309A (Construction & Maintenance Electrician)
  • 442A (Industrial Electrician)
  • Red Seal certification preferred
  • Dual Ticket (Electrician + Millwright) strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with industrial automation and robotics systems is an asset
  • Basic PLC programming or ladder logic understanding preferred
  • Strong knowledge of machinery mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Must supply and maintain a personal set of basic hand tools required for daily maintenance tasks; specialized tools will be provided as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and tools
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems for tracking work orders and maintenance logs
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Forklift or other equipment certifications are considered an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Strong commitment to safety and working knowledge of OHSA regulations
  • Valid driver’s License

  • Miller Mig Welders
  • Miller Mig Welders
  • Lincoln Mig Welders
  • 150-ton hydraulic brake press
  • Cold form rolling mill
  • Viking wheelabrator
  • AGT Robotic Welder
Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of automated and semi-automated equipment including:
  • PLC-controlled systems
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic tools
  • Motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors
  • Robotics and automated welding systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and drawings to plan work procedures.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical installations, adjustments, and overhauls.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate service records using maintenance logs.
  • Safely operate machine tools and welding equipment to fabricate and or repair parts.
  • Collaborate during machine breakdowns or upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
  • Assist in equipment upgrades and modifications, including programming and control wiring, laser curtains, limit switches, guarding etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and national codes and safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
