The company buys, sells, and processes nonferrous metals and electronics scrap worldwide utilizing established partnerships with end consumers in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Job Description The Interco Maintenance Technician performs general facility maintenance and repairs to the interior and exterior of the buildings. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing the fixtures, appliances, and equipment as well as the setup, installation, and maintenance of company production equipment and machinery. Responsibilities: Perform preventative and repair maintenance on machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems Dismantle, install, test, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment Document preventative and repair maintenance as instructed Metal repair and fabrication Install and repair electrical apparatus and components Maintain work area in safe, neat, and orderly condition Display a constructive, helpful attitude and promote a positive working environment Ability to conduct minor repairs on forklifts, bobcats and excavators such as pins, hydraulic hoses, etc. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, or as necessary to ensure effective and efficient plant operations. Qualifications Ability to read, understand, and speak English Knowledge of single and 3 phase electricity up to 480 volts, including the use of a multimeter for the purpose of troubleshooting Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and diagrams Operate hand and power tools to include grinders, saws, drills, etc. Ability to accept direction, and communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and other employees Self-motivated and capable of completing activities with minimal supervision Completion of Industrial Maintenance or other relevant course, or 5 years minimum equivalent experience Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus. Physical Demands and Abilities: Frequently standing, walking, reaching, and using hands and fingers is required. Sitting, kneeling, stooping, and climbing may be necessary on occasion. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. is frequently expected. Talking and hearing are essential for the role. Good close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the capacity to adjust focus are required.
