Job Details Job Location: Commercial Sewing, Inc. - Torrington, CT 06790 Position Type: Full Time - Exempt Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: First Summary Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process. Responsibilities - Identify, develop and implement optimizations and improvements to all phases of the production process. - Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and quality. - Implement new products launches into production. - Develop innovative solutions. - Review and analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, and gather data to pinpoint areas for improvement. - Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards. - Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement projects, often using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma - Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. - Identifies inefficiencies in business processes and implements changes to increase productivity and reduce costs - Coach and lead cross-functional teams through the implementation of new processes and tools - Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of changes and document all process updates and standard operating procedures (SOPs) - Create ROIs and reports, and present findings and recommendations to management - Work collaboratively with engineering and quality during incident investigations. - Advise on and implement corrective actions. - Update procedures and work instructions as needed. - Research and purchase new manufacturing technology. - Work with Partner/Operations, Partner/Research & Development and Operations Manager on capital equipment investment justification. - Ensure projects are completed on time. - Ensure financial budgets are followed. - Some travel required as needed. - Performs duties in other areas as needed Education & Qualifications - B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineer required - Minimum 5 years related experience required - Proven Continuous Improvement Experience preferred - Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred - Prior supervisory experience highly desirable - Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple projects - Experience with Kaizen and other Lean manufacturing techniques - CAD proficiency - Experience with problem analysis and resolution - Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others - Requires good leadership skills and communication skills - Ability to recommend and implement improvements Equipment Used Computer, telephone, smartphone, Microsoft office, Excel Note 1) The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to the classification.
