    We are currently looking for a Industrial Meat Cutter Level 4 to join the team based out of our location in Moose Jaw, SK.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

The Industrial Meat Cutter is responsible for ensuring their cuts of meat are in accordance with production and customer needs. All production work will be carried out efficiently while having the highest priority on safety.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to accurately work at production line speed.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience as a meat cutter.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Consistent commitment to working safely.
  • Demonstrated ability to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency using a creative and logical approach to resolution.
  • Ability to work in a team based environment.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses
  • De-bone meat
  • Cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use
  • Cut beef, lamb, pork or veal carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging

Responsibilities

Perform 3 of the following cuts at production line speed

  • Box Scale, Band saw, and cryovac operators
  • Table Trimmers
  • Bone picnics, bone buckeyes, stage boning, wizard knife
  • Offal Harvest
  • Prober operators, stun hogs, shave hogs
  • Shave hogs, break heads, and stick wound removal
  • Freezer load/unload, material handling, shipping
  • Communicate effectively with Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent, and Lead hands to ensure cuts are being performed as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all Work Safe SK, CFIA, HACCP and other applicable regulations
