Job Title: Maintenance Lead Hand
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Lead Hand will oversee the day-to-day operations of a maintenance department and the supervision of a team responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of fleet. Ensure all repairs and/or maintenance to equipment is performed in accordance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal/state regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Journeyman Millwright.
  • One (1) or more years of lead technician or supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to supply your own set of hand tools to perform basic repairs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Knowledge of OSHA, and other related state and federal regulations .
  • Ability to supervise, coach, counsel, discipline, and train employees .
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrating integrity, trust, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on machinery.
  • Knowledge of welding and compactor repair.
  • Specific experience with preventative maintenance and diagnostics on conveyors, electronics, and electronic motors.
  • Competency using various computer systems to record and document repairs and diagnose problems.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily planning and scheduling of all repair work to optimize productivity. Follow up on repairs being made, perform repairs as needed and appraise performance of shop personnel.
  • Supervise, coach, train, evaluate employee performance or behavior; provide input into hiring, disciplinary action, terminations, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostics and repairs on industrial equipment. This equipment can range from electronics, conveyers, and compactors that provide support and service to our processing facilities operations.
  • Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure all work was properly completed in accordance with Company’s safety and compliance procedures and federal/state regulations; follow up where appropriate.
  • Track issues and conduct Quality Control Inspections (QCI’s)
  • Review and approve expenses that are within approval level; refer larger expenses or major repairs to manager.
  • Manage records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, recording of all information into Company maintenance software.
