POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a results-driven and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day yard operations and drive performance through data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in scrap metal recycling, with experience managing staff, equipment, safety protocols, and logistics, along with the ability to analyze operational metrics and identify process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the scrap metal, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector
• Strong working knowledge of yard equipment is a benefit (e.g., shears, balers, loaders, shredder, material handlers)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, develop reports, and make fact-based decisions
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Familiarity with health & safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality systems
• Post-secondary education in business, operations, or engineering is an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and operational systems (e.g., Workhub, Mayer, Beanworks, MaintainX) is an asset
