SUMMARY

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the purpose of Industrial Painter includes, but is not limited to, being capable of performing all aspects of the Paint Department, working with other employees as a part of a team, and being prompt and on time daily for work. Have experience with paint spray techniques and learn all aspects of job as required.
With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position is based out of Enerflex’s Southeast Calgary facility.
4 x 10-hour shifts per week.
Day shift is 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, 4 days a week
Evening shift is 5:00 pm - 3:00 am, 4 days a week and includes a $5 per hour premium

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work with paint specifications and achieving strict tolerances to the specifications.
  • Previous experience mixing, thinning and working with airless spray, brush and rolling of industrial coatings is an asset.
  • 2 to 3 years of related work experience is required and 2 to 3 years in a similar industry is considered an asset.
  • Auto body painters will be considered.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.

Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Alkyd, Enamel, Polyurethane, Epoxies, and Zinc industrial paints
  • Painting of Gas Compression, Gas Processing and Power Generation equipment to a high standard of quality primarily using airless spraying equipment
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques related to painting, safe use, storage and disposal of paint and cleaning products.
  • Familiar with the use of wet and dry paint thickness MIL gauges
  • Experience with performing soluble salt testing and low voltage holiday detection.
  • Experienced with the use of Replica Tape to determine sandblast profile.
  • Measuring environmental conditions and accurately recording.
