Description Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our trailer manufacturing team. The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting steel trailers and trailer components using industrial-grade coatings and spray equipment. This role plays a critical part in producing high-quality, durable products that meet company standards for appearance and corrosion protection. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare trailer frames, components, and finished units for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and inspecting surfaces. Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications. Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats using airless, conventional, or HVLP spray equipment. Ensure consistent paint coverage, color matching, and finish quality. Inspect painted products for defects and perform touch-ups as needed. Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition. Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for paints, solvents, and hazardous materials. Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and paint specifications. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of painting equipment. Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and assembly team members to meet production goals. Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and required PPE guidelines. Assist with other production duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience as an industrial, automotive, heavy equipment, or manufacturing painter preferred. Experience operating industrial spray painting equipment. Knowledge of paint preparation techniques, mixing ratios, and coating applications. Ability to identify paint defects and make necessary corrections. Ability to read and understand work instructions and production documents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and protective clothing. Preferred Qualifications Experience painting trailers, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or structural steel. Experience using epoxy, urethane, and other industrial coatings. Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.
