Job Title: Industrial Process Engineer – Tool and Automation Engineer
Location: Belfast
Hours: 4 day week Monday-Thursday / 37 hours per week
As an Industrial Process Engineer – Tool and Automation Engine, you will provide effective Jig and Tool including Automation manufacture support within the constraints of programme and budget parameters to produce the most economical and cost effective method of manufacture. This will include:-
Effective utilization of team resources.
The jobholder will be responsible for the provision of effective Tooling and Automation support across all business programs.

Qualifications

  • Degree in an engineering discipline is preferred although an HND with extra experience will be accepted

Experience

  • Skilled Jig and Tool Engineer with a minimum of at least 3 years relevant experience

Knowledge and Experience

  • The jobholder shall have a working knowledge of the following:-
  • Experience of all aspects of Tool and Automation design.
  • Skilled in the use of Catia V5 r21 and Smarteam software or Equivalent 3D CAD Software
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings, including geometrical tolerancing to BS8888.
  • Familiar with working within an ISO9001 environment and maintaining system procedures.
  • Design for Manufacture and Assembly.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Knowledge of Machining, mechanical processes, or assembly processes appropriate to Tool manufacture
Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provision of Tooling and Automation requirements ensuring Design Philosophy is followed within the constraints of the Departmental Program and Budget parameters.
  • Creation of Bills of Materials
  • Provide Engineering support during the Tool Try Out process and yearly maintenance and calibration cycles.
  • Provide Engineering support in the resolution of internal production problems.
  • To liaise with customers on equipment issues relating to project work packages.
  • To work as a member of a multi-functional team to ensure that during the product design process components and products are capable of efficient and cost effective equipment and manufacture.
  • Assist in the specification, selection, justification and commissioning of new Tool and automated engineering related equipment.
  • Continually examine all Tooling and Automation equipment for the opportunity of cost reduction and better manufacturing efficiency making use of all Tools available.
  • To produce estimates of labour and material in support of bid processes.
  • To provide training for IPE personnel and other departments for all Tool Engineering activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The jobholder is responsible for Tool Engineering activities for departmental work packages.
  • The jobholder is responsible for providing guidance on Tooling related matters to IPE and other personnel and to ensure that his / her own skills are consistent with the demand of the job.
  • The jobholder is responsible for the provision of all Tooling information required to ensure the efficient manufacture of conforming product.
