JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to join our team. Directly supports the Quality Manager in the maintenance of the Business Management System.
Supports the continual improvement of processes by participating and leading in cross functional teams. Provides statistical and technical knowledge to internal teams and customers during product/process development, realization, and during quality concerns.
Coordinator of Advanced Product Quality Planning and act as the on-site material science specialist.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in a powder metallurgy
· Experience in material science
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Material Science (MS), Industrial (IE), Mechanical (MM), or equivalent)
· Trains operators on the use of measurement equipment
· Trains Quality Personnel
· Responsible for the record retention of PPAP documentation
· Manages Customer claims and ensures the successful completion of corrective actions
· Performs internal audits and LPA, Participates in Internal Auditing Program
· Champion and lead problem solving activities
· Coordinator of Advanced Product Quality Planning
· Leads APQP activities such as, but is not limited to: Feasibility Studies, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis, Dimensional Layouts and Lessons Learned
· Read and interpret customer part and component drawings including GD&T, customer quality standards, and/or requirements
· Supporting role in the Continuous Improvement team
· Demonstrate the ability to initiate and accomplish assigned tasks in a manufacturing environment where priorities may change
· Customer quality interphase, including customer Liaison and coordination of customer quality performance activities including customer on-site support as needed to coordinate and communicate quality issues occurring. Provides material science support to Product Development, Quality and Production, coordinates this support with other experts in the BleiStahl-Group and external sources (e.g. Universities and institutes) as relevant.
· Cooperation with Production and Process Engineering production process improvements, including but not limited to analysis of production process performance data (Scrap, process capabilities, final test, …). Participation in production meetings to stay involved as issues emerge and be followed
· FMEA and Control Plan management
· Reporting of KPI metrics as established
· Completion of MSA and capability studies
· Maintains, reviews and escalates internal SPC trends (regular Cpk review)
· Supports in the establishment of process parameters
· CQI-9 facility representative
